We Comply with the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and Subsequent Legislation
It is Gainsborough’s policy to comply with the terms of the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and subsequent legislation and to provide and maintain a healthy and safe working environment.
Gainsborough’s health and safety objective is to minimise the number of instances of occupational accidents and illnesses and ultimately to achieve an accident-free workplace.
We have our own Health and Safety Adviser, fully qualified to the latest standards.
All employees will be provided with such equipment, information, training and supervision as is necessary to implement the policy and achieve the stated objective.
Gainsborough recognise and accept their duty to protect the health and safety of all visitors to contracted events, including contractors and temporary workers, as well as any members of the public who might be affected by our operations.
Whilst the management of Gainsborough will do all that is within its powers to ensure the health and safety of its employees, it is recognised that health and safety at work is the responsibility of each and every individual associated with the Company. It is the duty of each employee to take reasonable care of their own and other people’s welfare and to report any situation which may pose a threat to the well-being of any other person.
The management of Gainsborough will provide every employee with the training necessary to carry out their tasks safely. However, if an employee is unsure how to perform a certain task or feels it would be dangerous to perform a specific job then it is the employee’s duty to report this to their Supervisor or Manager. An effective health and safety programme requires continuous communication between workers at all levels. It is therefore every worker’s responsibility to report immediately any situation which could jeopardise the well-being of themselves or any other person.
All injuries, however small, sustained by a person at work must be reported to the Events Security Manager or a delegated representative. Accident records are crucial to the effective monitoring and revision of the policy and must therefore be accurate and comprehensive.
Gainsborough’s Health and Safety Policy will be continually monitored and updated, particularly when changes in the scale and nature of our operations occur. The Policy will be updated at least every 12 months.

My husband and I would like to thank members of your security and welfare team for their help and kindness.
We attended the YCS Yugioh event at the London Excell in Hall S7, from the 25th to the 27th October with our son.
On the Saturday morning our son felt unwell while queuing outside. My husband took him to the front of the queue and explained they needed to get to the bathroom urgently. They were helped through by one of your team Michelle, who was one of the Welfare Officers that day.
Throughout that day and for the rest of the weekend, Michelle regularly checked up on us, checking that our son was ok and ensuring we knew where to access help if needed. Her professionalism, friendliness and kindness was much appreciated.
I am a Registered General Nurse with 30 years experience, including working in the army and the prison and I was very impressed with how your team supported the Yugioh event. There were over 2,500 players attending on the Saturday, 700 who I believe had to be turned away due to there not being enough places for them. Despite the added pressure this must have caused, (plus the 100,000 that were attending the Comic Con walking through too!) your staff were pleasant, smiling and made efforts to ensure that the event was kept safe. I’d like also to thank Phil, who we have seen at this YCS event for the last 3 years, who always says hello to us.
Michelle’s number on her hi- viz jacket was 491, apologies, I can’t remember Phil’s but he is always on duty in the YCS event hall.
I do hope that you can relay our thanks to your staff. Their timely help and kindness ensured that the weekend was as stress free and as fun as possible for us and our son.

Thank you so much. You guys will be my first port of call for any security needs for future events that I’m running at TP.
Please thank your guys for their absolute professionalism and good humour throughout the night. Your team were integral to the smooth running of the event and the positive response we have received from the management at Tullett Prebon and our brokers and clients this morning is owed to them as part of a slick operation!
